Reminders of fall...

You know it is fall when...

Mums are sold everywhere

Apples are in season with many different types

Candy apples are available

The squash availability exponentially grows

You see Cushaw, another type of squash

And of course, we can't forget all those pumpkins--everything from mini to small to large

Cool sighting

I recently talked about Natural Highs and had an interesting sighting yesterday. I was at work, picking
up a branch that had fallen into the paddock. Then I see this.

Upon closer inspection, I realize it is a bird just sitting on top of the fence. And actually, there are two of them. I honestly could not tell if these birds were really alive until one slightly moved its head. Since these birds literally stayed there the entire day, I was also to snap these photos in the afternoon.

The interesting thing about this is that I was incredibly close to these birds.

Of course dumb me tried to cut off that leaf in front of the bird to get a better picture and accidentally touched one of the birds who then happened to fly away. I could tell he was pissed as seen in this photo. I told him he could go back to sitting with its mate, but he just scoffed at me and pouted. I guess I ruined his day.

Here's a picture o the other bird who remained sitting there.

There isn't a real rhyme and reason to this post other than this was a cool sighting. The birds weren't spectacular looking or anything, but just the fact that I was inches away from them was an awesome feeling. I love how sometimes I'm able to be that close to nature.

Spring really is here!

The beginning of spring is always interesting. Everything begins to blossom and grow, and then boom, at least one cold front that comes through. Supposedly, this weekend and the early part of next week, the temperatures will drop about 25 to 30 degrees for a few days. Last year, temperatures dipped low enough for snow to fall in the middle of April!

Anyway, in general, spring is my second most favorite season, fall being the first. I really enjoy nature unearthing itself. Here are some samples of flower photos in my yard. Unfortunately, I can't take the credit for planting them. The family who lived her before me, the mother was a very avid gardener. Every year, I get a chance to see the beautiful flowers she planted and remind myself how wonderful spring can be.

These photos were taken at various dates throughout this month. The Tulip ones are interesting to see unfold as they were taken on different dates. I wanted to see them in the process of blooming. Note that none of these photos have been edited.

Veggies for dogs and Nature

I reread my post from yesterday and realized how depressing it was. I really don't come off as being depressed to most people, and it's only a handful of people who can even recognize when I am. So after about 7.5 hours of sleep, I woke up feeling better and ready for a new day. After coffee and feeding my three dogs, I went to processing all the veggies for the dogs. Yep, they do get vegetables and fruits daily as well as raw meat and supplements too. Some people I'm a little nuts for going to all this work for my dogs when I could just open a bag of super premium dog food. I guess I get a little piece of mind knowing for sure exactly what goes into my dogs' meals. They definitely have the proof that they are in very good health, and I hope to keep them that way.

The rest of today, I'm hoping to finish up some cleaning and go for a long run. It's been a week or so since I've done that. My last run ended up in pure, cold rain, and that didn't do much for clearing the head. Today is' beautiful clear and cool. Besides, I often see some cool stuff when I'm out there. Nature has a great way of providing some escape. Let's just hope there are not any loose dogs out there. Running in the country, it's a risk I take unfortunately, but at the same time, there is much splendor too.
