FYI

The last several weeks have been very stressful here. This past weekend has been a big emotional roller coaster ride. First, Baxter had three seizures within a span of 28 hours. So far, he has not had any for 18 hours, so I'm hopeful that they have lessened. If you have never witnessed seizures in either people or animals, it really is frightening. I've had my own experience with seizures in the past, so this was only a reminder how helpless people felt at that time. I'm feeling a bit of guilt too since I'm almost positive the seizures were environmental and my fault.

Then, a good friend's mother passed away and she needed to board her four dogs. This same person's father also just got admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, so she is a mess all around.

Lastly, just everything else that is going on in my life.

For this reason, I'm giving a head up that I will be putting my blog on private some time mid-late next week. It is NOT permanent, but just because I'd like another outlet for myself and to hear other opinions as well. If you are interested in reading, please let me know. I'll put my e-mail in my profile, so you may contact me that way.

Sorry to hear about everything going on. Life is crazy sometimes. Of course, I would love to continue reading your blog. I read every post, even if I don't comment on all of them. Thinking of you!

Ditto to what those have posted above.

It's always hard when all those around us aren't going so well PLUS our own life is feeling crazy. Will be thinking of you and would enjoy to keep reading your blog on private if you feel comfortable adding me.

*hugs and compassionate vibes*

I'm so sorry, Tiptoe! Your blog has been an exceptionally awesome and inspiring one for those of us in recovery, so I'll be sad to see it disappear for a while, but at the same time, happy that you can prioritize yourself. Please take care!

Also...I don't know all that much about seizures in animals...but are you sure that Baxter's seizures can be directly connected with your actions? I know sometimes when we're feeling a bit crappy it feels like everything is our fault...but I'm thinking maybe not so much with this one.

*hugs*

Tiptoe,

I've been rather absent as of late, but I wanted to say that I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with so much at the moment. I would love to give you support, if I can, but even if I'm not actively present these days, know that my thoughts are with you.
Do be kind to yourself.

Thank you for your comments. I will add you when I go private later this week. If there are others who wish to be added, please let me know either here or on e-mail, though I will need your e-mail address.

Ember, the reason why I was feeling guilty was because I used oregano oil for his feet to alleviate the itching. Oregano oil is potent, can work very well, but you have to be careful with it. I was feeling like I may have not been as careful as I should have been with not enough dilution or too many drops, etc. I only wants to him to stop itching. I had used it before with him last year and had no problems.

It is hard to say now for sure what has caused the seizures.

In my language we say that troubles always wait over the corner and than appear together. I'm sorry you are going through this all.
I have fortunately never seen seizures in animal, but seeing kids with seizures makes me always so powerless, ineffective and desperate:/
I would like to continue reading your blog although I am more lurker than beneficial commenter. But I understand your privacy needs. Please take care!
