First off, thanks to the comments I received in my last post about a family member's lap band surgery. The surgery was complicated-free. M. called me yesterday in the afternoon and said he was okay. One thing he had to do was a lot of walking right afterwards due to the excessive amount of air they pumped into him.
He went home this afternoon and apparently had a tough day. The next few weeks are going to be difficult, so I hope the best for him. One good piece of information I learned was that his treatment team expected him to be able to walk two miles in two months time. I was glad they were not neglecting this aspect of after-care.
Now, only time will tell.
Again, thanks for the feedback everyone.

I'm glad that he came through ok. I hope his recover goes well. And the lap-band type is a lot better than what they used to do. Wish him well for me. And look into support groups for him. My local hospital has one for lap band/bariatric's to get together and help eachother.
Thanks for updating us. I'm glad the procedure went ok. I'm sure recovery takes a while, but it sounds like it went as well as it could. I hope you're doing well with everything too. I'm sure it's stressful!
I'm glad things with the surgery went well, Tiptoe. I hope he continues to improve, as well as his quality of life.
Eating Alone, Kim, E, thanks so much for your good wishes. So far, things seem to be okay.
I agree on the support group. I have really encouraged that.
As for me, I'm doing okay, but honestly, have a lot of other stressful things going on.
